With Felix and Fido at home nursing care, our goal was to create the change we wanted to see. We want technicians to be recognized for the tremendous medical support we provide in our hospitals and to be compensated accordingly for it. We are passionate about what we do and cannot stand to see any animal in discomfort, but just because we love our career does not mean we need to live in a deficit. The veterinary support staff is valuable and integral to the veterinary team. Having a platform to properly utilize our skills and expertise has created a win-win for veterinary hospitals, credentialed veterinary technicians, and pet parents. The result is patient care comes out on top. We want to combat burnout and compassion fatigue and provide alternative ways to keep veterinary technicians in the career we all love so much. When working with Felix and Fido, you are entirely in control of your schedule; you set your prices, keep 90% of everything you bring in, and are compensated for all travel time.
Even though you are working independently, you have the support of an organization behind you. We have protocols and procedures to protect you and the pets you are treating. We encourage a team atmosphere and want you to know the technicians around you, and we will be here to support you. It can be overwhelming when you have a high-needs client that requires daily care. That is why we often encourage clients to look for a primary, secondary, and, in some cases, even a third technician to help split the caseload. We don't want you to feel guilty about taking holidays and left wondering if your patients will be cared for appropriately.
