We only work with credentialed veterinary technicians (RVTs/LVTs/CVTs, etc.) who have a minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience and are in good standing with their regulatory body. Every technician is individually interviewed, reference‑checked, required to provide a clean criminal background check, and covered under Felix and Fido’s professional liability insurance.

Our RVTs provide prescribed nursing care and client education that supports your veterinarian’s treatment plan—such as injections, subcutaneous fluids, bandage and wound care, and medication administration. We focus on improving adherence, monitoring response, and communicating concerns back to your veterinary team when needed.

Flexible In‑Home Care

Each veterinary technician sets their own schedule and service area, allowing you to find support that fits your pet’s needs and your routine. For pets requiring more intensive or frequent at‑home care, you can discuss an individualized plan directly with the RVTs in your area, in coordination with your veterinarian.

Create your account and pet profiles

Sign up and add a profile for each pet, including medical history, temperament, and your regular veterinary clinic.

Connect with a veterinary technician

Browse RVTs in your area and message anyone who looks like a good fit. Many RVTs prefer to chat with you first so you can discuss your pet’s needs, prescriptions, and what support you’re looking for.

Find a time that works

  • Some RVTs have their availability listed so you can book a visit right away.
  • Others don’t show open time slots but will open their calendar once they’ve spoken with you.
  • Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see availability—always reach out and start a conversation.

    Use a custom request if you’re not sure who to book

    If you can’t find the service or schedule you need, send a custom request. This sends an email and text alert to RVTs in your area, and anyone who’s available will contact you directly to discuss next steps.

    Confirm the visit and receive care at home

    Once you and your RVT agree on a date and time, they’ll come to your home to provide the prescribed care and walk you through how to manage your pet’s treatment confidently.

    Security Note: For safety and security, all services are paid for before we dispatch any RVT to your home. Your payment is securely held by the Felix and Fido platform, and your technician is paid only after the visit is completed.

    How To Join Our Network

    Meet our minimum standards

    We partner only with experienced, credentialed veterinary technicians. To be eligible, you must have:

    • At least 3+ years of clinical experience
    • Current registration/licence/certification in good standing (with your state or provincial regulatory body)
    • Training in fear-free and low-stress handling (or a strong commitment to these principles)

    Apply and complete screening questions

    Sign up as a credentialed veterinary technician and upload your resume and registration details (including your license/registration number and jurisdiction). If you meet our minimum criteria, we’ll send you a set of screening questions to learn more about your experience and approach to patient care.

    Interview and background check

    After you submit your screening questions, you’ll receive a link to book a virtual interview. We’re looking for RVTs who are serious about providing high-quality, compassionate medical care in the home. Successful candidates must also be prepared to provide a clean criminal background check before onboarding.

    Onboard and start accepting cases

    Once approved, you’ll create your profile, list your services, and set your availability. All RVTs on the Felix and Fido platform are covered under our professional liability insurance, so you do not need separate coverage. From there, you can begin accepting bookings and providing gold-standard in‑home care.

    Payment Protection: All services are paid for in advance and securely held by our platform. You’re paid once you complete your notes to be sent to the referring veterinarian and mark the visit as complete. Clear cancellation policies are in place to protect both you and your clients with fair, transparent refund terms.
